Hey {{ first_name | there }},

If you're a contractor relying on word of mouth to fill your pipeline, you're leaving millions on the table.

I've watched it happen too many times. Great work. Strong reputation. Completely invisible online.

We just took an HVAC client from nowhere in Google's Map Pack to the number one spot for their highest value keywords. No massive ad spend. No total website rebuild.

Three changes to their Google Business Profile.

Change 1: Keywords in the Business Name

This is the closest thing to an algorithm cheat code in local SEO and almost nobody talks about it.

Google loves an exact match business name. If your legal business name is "Smith & Sons" but you do HVAC, you're losing to "Smith & Sons AC Repair & Heating" every single day.

Adding your core service keyword to your Google Business Profile name is one of the highest-impact ranking signals available to a local business. Most contractors have never touched this.

Change 2: Review Velocity Over Review Volume

Most contractors think getting 50 reviews three months ago means they're set.

Google doesn't care what you did last month. The algorithm cares about recency and velocity. How fresh are your reviews and how consistently are they coming in?

If your competitors are getting three reviews a week and you're getting one a month, you're slowly sinking regardless of your total count.

You can't rely on technicians remembering to ask or customers remembering to follow through. You need an automated system that sends the review link the moment the job wraps. Fresh reviews signal to Google that your trucks are moving and your business is alive.

No velocity means no visibility.

Change 3: GBP Landing Page Overhaul

If your Google Business Profile links to your homepage, it's probably hurting your local rankings.

Your homepage has to cover everything you do everywhere you do it. Google needs to know exactly what you do in a specific market.

The fix is a dedicated location landing page — local schema, geo-targeted headers, location-specific title tags, content built purely for local search intent in that market.

When you link your GBP to a purpose-built location page instead of a generic homepage, your map rankings move.

This client didn't need more ad spend. They needed their profile to actually tell Google what they do, prove they're still active, and send visitors to the right page.

Three changes. One outcome.
